About Joe Goldsberry

Every kid wants to "be something" when they grow up. Joe Goldsberry wanted to be a TV cameraman. He and his dad, Mel, would make TV cameras out of old boxes, and by age 7, Joe was the top pretend TV cameraman in Neponset.

The dream never died, but it did take on different forms. Why just limit himself to TV news? Anything can be filmed. Why just filming? What about still photography?

Throughout his teenage years and early twenties, Joe focused on photography, and he still has the very 35mm Nikon film camera that started everything and served him so well. Back then, like all good photographers, he developed all his own film. He found his niche, and some of his photos made their way to national magazine covers.

Eventually Joe got back to his "TV cameraman" roots, wanting to see his photographs in motion. This time, he turned the video camera lens to weddings, and in 1981 he started his company, at the time called Dynamic Video Productions in Brockton, Mass., becoming quite possibly the first professional wedding videographer in the area.

As life happens, so do marriage and children, and Joe spent 16 years as the Director of Video Production for the Massachusetts Dept. of Education. He kept his hand (and heart) in wedding videography all those years. In November 2004, Joe took the chance of a lifetime and he left his position at the DOE to pursue his videography full time. The result is his studio in downtown Whitman, Mass.

Along with videography, Joe re-entered the "new and exciting" world of digital photography, which had progressed from the limiting medium of 35mm to the infinite possibilities of digital photography.

Joe loves what he does, and it shows in all his work. He does not limit himself to weddings. Every day brings something new, whether it's a corporate assignment for an underwater canine physical therapy company, a sports gig for a professional boxing match, a concert or a dance recital. Joe has shot for both sides of the political field, everyone from Hillary Clinton to Scott Brown to Mitt Romney. Photography brings engagement shoots, senior portraits, families, children and babies, the possibilities and the assignments are endless.

When you look at Joe's work, look closely - you will see a lifetime of professionalism in every project he accepts. Joe works one on one with every client, so you will never see a "cookie cutter" approach to anything that is produced by Photo & Video By Media Concepts.
